Ho - John C. (July 12, 1932- July 18, 2023). John found joy in seeking solutions, be it fixing a broken toilet, beating the house in blackjack or improving the clock that would end up in a NASA space probe. Born in China, he lived through World War II occupation before coming stateside and earning an engineering degree in 1954 at Manhattan College. He became the first employee of Uniondale-based Frequency Electronics in 1961 and worked there 58 years, implementing timing devices for Navy subs, satellites and NASA probes like Voyager 1 and 2. He relished a competitive game of mahjong, banter with blackjack dealers at casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas and a New York Yankees game. He loved Pearl, his wife of 59 years, who died in 2020. He is survived by his daughter Yvonne and son Rodney. Services are being held at Beney Funeral Home in Syosset at 11 am, August 5, 2023.
