Survived by his Daughter, Laura Burns and Thomas Burns and daughter, Christine Altman, Eric Altman and Ashley Altman, his granddaughter. Sister Paula and Bill O’Donnell, brother Harry and Kathy Casillo, brother-in-law, Frank Montalbano, all his nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear many friends. His best friend, Tom Abramowski and wife Dottie.
Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Vince lived among his family, cousins, aunts and uncles, you name it, all with in the same block and same neighborhood, the good ol’ days. He then moved to Long Island where he started his family with MaryJayne, Laura and Christine.
Vince loved his Italian upbringing and his heritage from Italy. He grew up with mom making a gravy on Friday night that cooked to Sunday. Every Sunday, rain or shine, they came together on a long table. Grandma’s Linguini with fresh clam sauce from the back was one of the family’s cherished traditions.
Being a die-hard Jets fan, he did see Joe Namath win the super bowl and from then on, he was a loyal fan despite all the yelling at the TV.
Vince was a relationship builder; he built relationships with anyone and everyone on a business level and personal level. His charm was infectious. He was a mayor of sorts whether it was as the President, The Homeowners Association in Acorn Ponds, The Board of the Town of Huntington and close to his heart, he ran the MaryJayne Casillo Foundation to support cancer research.
The most important elements of his life were always MaryJayne, Laura, And Christine. He loved them with all this heart and soul.
His soulmate was MaryJayne, and Laura and Christine were his pride and joy.
He loved the joy of life itself which included music, from Neil Diamond to Jimmy Buffet to Willie Nelson. Those were the songs of his life.
He was also an avid runner and ran the New York City Marathon 13 times, which was indicative of his commitment to his goals.
In his fondest times, you would often find him and his wife on a Friday night enjoying a nice Italian meal and a bottle of wine at Café Continental in Manhasset or at Poco Loco in Roslyn with his wife and children.
We will forever miss you.
