

Angela “Sister” (Vercillo) Tarnacki, 70, of Kirkville, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her family and friends by her side. A life resident of the Syracuse area, she retired from Syracuse Development Center. A communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church, Angela was a member of the St. Theresa’s Society and a former Pompeian player. Predeceased by her father, Anthony Vercillo and her brother, Peter Vercillo.
Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Frank; daughters, Jennifer Gillette and her husband, Patrick of Syracuse and Christina Tarnacki and her boyfriend Brian Connelly of Syracuse; her mother, Anne Vercillo of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews; and Sister also had many lifelong friends who were considered family.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday 10:15 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
