

Arthur “Red” Zalla, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at Crouse Hospital. A life resident of Syracuse, he retired from New Process Gear after 23 years and was also a former employee of Easywasher in Syracuse. Arthur was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Arthur served his country during WWII Battle of the Buldge. Mr. Zalla was an avid bowler and was also King of the Hill and after many years took up golf and would like to be remembered on the 9th hole of Sunnycrest Golf Course where he earned his first hole in one. He was predeceased by his son, Arthur F. Zalla in 1989.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Connie Dalesandro Zalla; daughter, Gail M. Preston of Cicero; sisters, Kate Brigandi of Syracuse and Antoinette “Babe” (Dan) Magaro of Liverpool; brother, Joe (Penny) Zella of Syracuse; daughter-in-law, Cathy Finniss of Baldwinsville; five grandchildren, Artie(Susan) Zalla, Aaron (Amy) Zalla, Aimee (Frank) Testa, Peter (Devon) Zalla, and Alexandra Preston; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Red’s request, there will be no services.
