Faith McKinney

Faith Hope (Corboo) McKinney went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. She was born on June 28, 1936 to the late John Corboo and Caroline Sorger Corboo. Faith grew up in Hastings, NY working in the family business, The Family Inn on Route 11. She graduated from Central Square Central Schools. She loved to draw. Faith was an expert sewer, making bridesmaid dresses, grooms wear and even swimsuits for her family in addition to sewing and cooking as her true passion. Her special dishes included eggplant Buccatini, West Virginia BBQ and turtle soup. Faith enjoyed canning, making hundreds of cans of fruits and vegetables each year. She often assisted in “Mac’s Garage”. In recent years, she and Mac were daycare providers to a special Lab, Apollo. Her life was her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is being mourned by her devoted husband of many years, Jerald “Mac” McKinney; daughters, Jackie (Angelo) Taddeo McKinney, Jamie-Lou McKinney and Jerri-Linn McKinney Gorman; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Faith, and William Gorman (and their father, Billy Gorman), Robert Bergvall, and Erin Taddeo; great-grandchild, DeMarco Taddeo; adopted daughters, Lisa VanVolkenburgh (Ryan) Royle; granddaughter, Kiara Royle and Tina (Lance) Race and grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, Travis, and Logan Race; sister, Lynn Corboo Dixon Wolfe; aunt/sister, Diane (DelBuono) Lenhart; aunt, Janet Bovalino; nieces, Janine Dixon and Chere (Hasto) Walker; and many cousins, Rita Riddick, her pew buddy, and many special friends. Faith was a member of Grace Baptist Church on Valley Drive in Syracuse, NY.

Calling hours: Saturday 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church. Burial in Hastings Cemetery.
