Giovanni Magnante

Giovanni Magnante, 95, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at Crouse Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Italy, he lived in Syracuse since 1956. Mr. Magnante retired from Syracuse China after 20 years of service. Predeceased by his daughter, Frances Marcoccia and his son, Achille Magnante.

Giovanni is survived by his wife of 74 years, Domenica (Federico) Magnante; one son, Germano (Marcelina) Magnante; one daughter, Milena (Jerry) Cimino of N. Syracuse; son-in-law, Tino Marcoccia; daughter-in-law from Italy, Emma Magnante; 11 grandchildren; a step granddaughter, and 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday 9:15 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
