

James W. Tucker, 85 of Fort Mill, SC, formerly of Naples, FL, passed away August 1 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse after a long illness. He was born on January 6, 1927 in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late James & Helen Tucker. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp at age 17 and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and was an avid gardener when living at his home on Onondaga Hill. James retired as a millwright in 1992 from Local Union 1163 and was a leader in his trade. Predeceased by his siblings Dorothy Henry, Shirley Guardino, Marylou Schneider, Robert and Jack Tucker.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, June; his sons, Timothy, Patrick, and Brian; daughters, Cindy Loniewski, Cheryl Conway (Brian), and Colleen Tuff; beloved grandchildren, Erica, Jay, Ryan, Scott, James, Evan, Craig, Stephanie, Colin, Brandon and Brett. Sister Joan Tucker of Texas.
There will be no calling hours.
Services will be private at the VA Cemetery.
