

Joseph R. Ciciarelli, 74, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday at VA Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse, he was a life resident of the area. Joe worked for Farone & Son Funeral Home for over 30 years and retired from VNA, where he worked for over 10 years and he was also a former employee of Sal Masonry and Speach’s Shell Gas Station. Mr. Ciciarelli was a an avid golfer and had been a member of Liverpool, Lakeshore, Pompey Country Club, Rogue’s Roost, and most recently Links at Erie Village. He was a former member of the I.A.A.C. A veteran of the United States Army, he served 3rd Recon Squad 8th Calvary. Predeceased by his parents, Sam and Helen Ciciarelli.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathy (Speach) Ciciarelli; son, Joseph (Patty) Ciciarelli of Liverpool; daughter, Cherie Ciciarelli (John Giraud) of New Jersey; one grandson, Joey; brother, David (Marilyn) Ciciarelli of Camillus; sister, Dolores Dippold (Tony Bennie) of N. Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, godchildren and his loyal companions, CeCee and Hubble.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 9 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Burial will follow in Onondaga Veterans Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
A special thank you to the staff at VNA and Veterans Hospital for their care to Joe during his illness. The family also appreciates the care provided by his primary physician, Dr. John Regan of the VA Medical Center.
