

Mary J. Sacco, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Thursday. Mary graduated from North High School and attended Syracuse School of Art where she accomplished talent in designing women’s apparel and accessories and clay sculptures. Mary was a devoted mother, a wonderful cook who enjoyed party planning at her home during the holidays. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her sisters and friends. She belonged to the Daughters of Columbus, St. Peter’s Society, Young Women’s Republican Organization and was very involved in the Syracuse Ostomy Club. As a young girl, Mary worked at Julius Resnick and later at Syracuse University. Predeceased by her husband, Francis, son, John; three sisters and two brothers.
Mary is survived by her son, Anthony (Judith) of Syracuse; her daughter, Debra (Ronald) Trepanier of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Mark (Melissa) Sacco, Michele (Richard) St. Pierre and Kimberly (David) Nygren; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Ashley, Bianca, Brady and Aidan; a sister, Jenny Guereschi of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:15 a.m. at Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park St.
