Maryanne Muolo

Maryanne Sgroi Muolo, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital to be with her complete family. Maryanne was one of ten children and was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas; parents, Paolo and Antonio Sgroi; two sisters, Sarah Sgroi DeMario and Josephine Sgroi Ferretti; seven brothers, Sam, Leonard, James, Frank, Mario, Carmen and Joseph and her beloved nephew, Vincent Ferretti who lived with her. In her early years Maryanne worked for the Syracuse Pocketbook Factory, General Electric and she retired after 16 years from Nationwide Insurance Company. Maryanne is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Scuderi Sgroi and Benda Davis Sgroi; many nieces, nephews, great and great great-nieces and nephews and especially her caregivers, Paul and Marilyn Ferretti, Roseann Ferretti and Marie Ferretti Wheeler. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 9:15 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse. The family also would like to express their thanks to the professional staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, especially the Palliative Care Department. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Maryanne’s memory to Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church Restoration Fund or the Sisters of the Dominican Monastery, 802 Court Street
