

Pauline (Cestra) Lowery, 80, of Syracuse passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital with her family by her side. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Tom in 2009. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, and grandmother, thinking of others before herself and working tirelessly to make others happy. Pauline retired from Syracuse University School of Social Work.
She is survived her loving children, Jim (Rebecca) Lowery, Susan Poissant, and Marie Lowery, all of Syracuse, and David (Margey) Lowery of Cleveland, OH. Pauline was a devoted Nana to her grandchildren; Eric, Jordan, and Brett Poissant, Delaney (Adam) Grieco, Nenagh, and Clare Lowery, Patrick and Nora Cunningham, and Megan, Carson, and Noah Lowery; her brother Louis (Mary) Cestra of N.J., and several nieces and nephews. Pauline was fortunate enough to have a special friendship with many of her neighbors of over 50 years on her quiet street in Eastwood.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:15 a.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
