

Robert W. Jaquint, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School in Syracuse in 1942. Mr. Jaquint served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the Destroyer USS Robert Brazier in the South Pacific Theater of Operations. After an honorable discharge he attended and became a graduate of Syracuse University in 1952. Robert was a CPA and practiced public accounting for many years. He retired as an Officer and Director of Midstate Raceway, Inc., Operators of Vernon Downs. He was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Jaquint.
Robert is survived by his wife, Josephine R. Ghezzi Jaquint; daughter, Kathleen (James) Leamer of Virginia; sons, Robert W., II (Eileen) Jaquint of Baldwinsville and Stephen Jaquint of Massachusetts; sister, Theresa Maley of Syracuse; brother, Daniel (Elsa) Jaquint of Atlanta; nine grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Benjamin, and Bo Leamer and Gregory, Haleigh, Nathan, Andrew and Michelle Jaquint; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and in-laws, Regina Cole of Camillus and Richard (Anne) Ghezzi, Jr. of Marcellus.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday 11 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 1001 Woods Road, Solvay.
