Shirley Daniels

Shirley was born February 21, 1936 in Whitesboro, daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Rowlands. She attended Oriskany and Whitesboro schools. Shirley married Robert Daniels on July 10, 1954, residing for many years in the Remsen and Prospect area. She was a much-loved homemaker, wife, mother, and friend, and was an active member and secretary for many years at Bethel Baptist Church in Prospect, New York.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert, and her four children, Debbie and Chet Arthur of Remsen, Teri and Peter Arthur of Remsen, Bill and Lisa Daniels of Durban South Africa, Lori Daniels of Rochester, 13 beloved grandchildren, her brother Terry Rowlands and wife Mary Ann, and niece Lisa Bord.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Faxton St. Lukes Barneveld Medical Center, Hospice nurse Kathy Smith, and many others involved in Shirley’s many months of care while battling cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 6:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 215 Church St., Prospect, NY, with an informal reception to follow. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church toward the gospel literature ministry of Bill Daniels in the Republic of South Africa. For inquiries, (315) 534-5061.
