Shirley (Wright) Whitehead

Shirley (Wright) Whitehead, 70, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Virginia, she resided in Syracuse all of her life. Shirley retired as a Home Health Aide after many years of service. She was a member of Living Waters C.O.G.I.C. Church. Predeceased by her husband, Augustus Whitehead, Sr.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Desmond) Bugg of N.C. and Cynthia Whitehead of Syracuse; seven sons, Augustus Whitehead, Jr., Edward Whitehead, Curtis Whitehead, Victor (Shannon) Whitehead, Jermaine (Monique) Whitehead, Merrell (Markita) Whitehead, all of Syracuse, and Joseph (Valerie) Whitehead of Kirkville; sisters, Betty (Taylor) Stackhouse and Evelyn Walker, both of Syracuse; 35 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Home Going Services: Monday 12 Noon at Living Waters C.O.G.I.C. Church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Calling hours: Monday 10 A.M.-12 Noon at the church, 121 Huron Street, Syracuse.
