

Vincent “Jim” Vito, 82, of Syracuse, passed away at Upstate University Hospital. Vincent honorably served in the Navy during WWII. He was the owner of Vito’s Café and after a long career as a roofer he retired in 1985. He and his wife spent several years in Florida before returning to Syracuse. Vincent was also a volunteer at Upstate University Hospital. He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, and sitting at a tiki bar in the sun. Predeceased by his parents, Lucia and Pio Vito; his wife, Mary (Pelosi) Vito; one sister, Angie Cerelli; brothers, Joseph, Albert, Armond, and Gino; and step daughter, Geraldine Venditte.
Vincent is survived by two daughters, Diane (Gregg) Horan of Sylvan Beach and Tina (Scott) Evans of East Syracuse; step son, Michael (Janice) Venditte of Syracuse; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted Wednesday 11:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse.
