Arnulfo "Ernie" Medina Sr.

Arnulfo M. “Ernie” Medina, Sr. passed away on November 9, 2010, at the age of 51. Ernie was born on June 30, 1959, to Frederico A. “Sonny” Medina, Jr. and Elvira M. Medina in Sinton, Texas. Mr. Medina was a welder for many years and he also taught his sons to weld. Ernie loved spending time with his sons and cherished his grandchildren. He enjoyed dancing, singing, playing his guitar and especially barbecuing for his family and friends. Ernie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He set a good example and had a way with words.

Mr. Medina is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Nelda Medina of Taft, Texas; one daughter, Christina (Tony) Longoria; five sons: Jose Martinez, Arnulfo “Sone” (Amber) Medina II, Ernesto Fred (Jessica) Medina, Michael (Elisa) Medina and Robert Medina all of Taft; seven grandchildren: Aliza, Jonathan, Jamie, Gabriel and T. J. Longoria, Ernesto Fred Medina Jr. and Arnulfo Medina III all of Taft; one sister, Elvira (Ruben ) Vasquez of Sinton, Texas; three brothers: Paul (Clarita) Medina of Taft, Arturo Medina of Portland, Texas and Fred A. Medina of Taft.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 13, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 14th from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Taft. Burial will follow the Service at Taft Memorial Park.
