Estella Garcia Maldonado

Estella Maldonado passed from this world on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the age of 72. She was born on November 21, 1938, in Gregory, Texas, to Santos and Teresa Garcia. Estella devoted her life to making a home for her family. She loved to cook, especially tamales. Estella also enjoyed playing Chalupa bingo. She had a large circle of friends and family that will miss her very much.

Estella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benito Maldonado; one sister; and two brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Cancino and Louisa Torres both of Taft, Texas; four sons: Rene Maldonado of Beeville, Texas, Raul Maldonado of Sinton, Texas, Rolando Maldonado and Gerardo Maldonado both of Taft; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Garcia of Taft and Joe Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 20, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place following the visitation at 3:00 p.m.
