

George was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto P. Gonzales and brother, Eloy Gonzales.
George is survived by his loving wife, of 42 years, Mary Lou Gonzales; children, George Gonzales (Audrey), Melissa Gonzales-Graves (Lawrence), Melani Gonzales-Ash (Allan) and Mike Gonzales; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven brothers; two sisters; mother, Amanda Saenz Gonzales; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
George was a very loving and devoted family man that will be missed by all that knew him. He had a love of the outdoors, especially fishing and being near the water. He also enjoyed spending time with his family during barbecues and traveling. George was a Pipefitter for many years and had spent the last 21 years as a valued and loyal employee of Kiewit Off Shore Services.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home Taft, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service and Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, Taft, Texas, at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, April 16, 2010, with a procession leaving the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Interment will follow at Taft Memorial Park.
