Funeral services for Alan Vann Jr will be held on Friday, January 13th, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Souls Harbor Church in Chewey, OK with Brother Andrew Harland officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12th, 2017 from noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment is at Crittenden family Cemetery in Chewey, OK. Pallbearers for Alan include Pat McDaniel, Clayton McDaniel, Ray McDaniel, Jon Jackson, and Glen Tipton.

Alan Vann Jr. was born on October 23rd, 1954, in Claremore, OK, the son of Alvin Alton and Leona (Vann) Crittenden. He attended school at Oaks School. He served in the US Army and upon his medical discharge, returned to the home he loved. He worked as a mechanic and auto repairman, his last position at Mastercraft Tires. He loved the great outdoors, and couldn’t wait to grab a pole and head to the nearest fishing spot. He was always ready to go to the casino to spend the evening with his friends or to play Bingo. He was outgoing and friendly, there were no strangers, only people he hadn’t met yet. He was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to make his family and friends smile. The pride and joy of his life was his daughter, Teresa and her children, Grant, Salah, and Cesar. He loved any chance the family had to get together to spend the day, always special moments for Alan. His health began to fail him and Alan passed from this life on January 8th, 2017 in Tulsa, OK. He was 62 years old. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Alan is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Crittenden.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Teresa Vann of Tulsa, his mother, Leona Vann-Crittenden of Kansas, OK, and his sister, Belinda Ratliff of Rocky Ford, OK. He lives on in his three grandchildren, Grant Vann of Rocky Ford, OK, Salah Vann of Tulsa, OK, and Cesar Espinoza also of Tulsa, OK. He leaves his fiancé, Tammy Hamilton of the home in Tulsa, and her nieces and nephews, Matthew Hamilton, Joseph Hamilton, Katherain Hamilton, Lisa Hamilton, and David Hamilton, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
