Alisha Nichole Matthews-Strickland was born on November 21, 1969 in Gravette, AR, the daughter of Tobe and Mary Reasor. She grew up with one brother, Bob and called Claremore, OK her home. She was a child of the 80’s and loved her rock n roll and her music, along with her tattoos and piercings. She loved to get her makeup perfect and go out for a night of dining and dancing. Writing was a particular favorite hobby, she was constantly writing recipes, lists and in her diary. She never missed a chance to curl up with a good Stephen King novel or perhaps Nora Roberts. She liked watching movies, the scarier the better. Halloween was her favorite holiday of the year, and one she looked forward to every year. As much love as she had for Halloween, it carried over into Christmas, with Alisha ensuring her kids had a memorable time each year. She married the love of her life, Darrell Strickland in Pryor, OK in 1997, and together they enjoyed life to its fullest. Life was wonderful and she enjoyed it just the way she found it, on her terms. She was the proud mother of five adored children, Jesse, James, Shelby, Darrell, and Danny. She was so very proud of them and all they ever tried. She liked cooking for her family and spending the evening finding out what was new for them. Her love of horror and rock music lives on strong in her kids and she made sure they grew up enjoying the things she loved as well. She was definitely a people person, and earned her living as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She had a smile that made you feel you had known her all of your life. Her health began to fade and Alisha passed from this life on December 24th, 2022 in Tahlequah, OK, after reaching the age of 53 years old. She will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father, and her husband Darrell Strickland in 2010.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, James Matthews and wife Ember of Texas, Jesse Matthews of Lawton, OK, Shelby Strickland of Tahlequah, Darrell Strickland II of Tahlequah, and Danny Strickland of Flagstaff, AZ. She leaves her brother, Bob Reasor and wife Lucy of Porter, TX, and her wo adored canine companions, Luna and Nala, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
