Angela Jean Farmer, Angie as many lovingly called her, was born on June 12, 1965 in Tahlequah, OK to Ross Roger Sr. and Betsy (Adair) Farmer. She grew up in a large family in Hulbert, OK. At a very young age, Angela was enrolled at the Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs, OK for mentally and physically challenged individuals. There, she would get the care and learning advantages that she was unable to receive in the Tahlequah area. She resided there until their closing in 1997. She then would reside in a group home setting through the Volunteers of America in Muskogee, OK.
Angela was hospitalized several times throughout her life. Each time she endured sickness, she overcame it. Her doctors were amazed at her recovery time. She was a very strong and determined young lady. Whatever she faced, she came through it with flying colors.
Angela loved books, setting or walking around with her book, flipping through the pages. She seemed to never tire of this. She also loved music, stuffed animals, being outdoors and most of all, she loved to eat.
She became ill once again and had to have a feeding tube inserted into her stomach. This hindered her ability to do the one thing she love most, eating! Angela never had the ability to speak, but she had her ways of getting her siblings attention, whether it was through gestures, yelling or “her jabber”. She made sure her siblings heard her and she always got what she wanted or needed.
Angela has been under the care of Cherokee County Nursing Center in Tahlequah for the past several years. This sweet soul was called to her eternal rest on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the age of 60 years old. The joy and innocence she brought to those around her will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents, four sisters, Phyllis Henson, Rebecca Farmer, Rosie Morgan and Rosa McClure, step-sister, Donna Grant, two brothers, Tommy McLemore and Joseph Farmer, step-brother, Aaron Thomas, two brothers-in-law, David Ledbetter and Lonnie McClure, along with one niece, Leslie Kilpatrick.
Her survivors are step-mother, Barbara Farmer of Park Hill, three sisters, Wanda Johnson and husband Ronnie of Hulbert, OK, Tina Farmer and husband Jacob Masters of Tahlequah, OK and Susan Ledbetter of Hulbert, OK, one brother, Roger Farmer and wife Janet of Hulbert, OK and two step-brothers, Jeff Thomas and wife Angie of Tulsa, OK and Mike Thomas of Tahlequah, OK. She was also the aunt to several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews too numerous to mention.
Thank you to Northeastern Health System doctors and nurses for the care they gave her as well as Bristol Hospice.
A visitation will be held at Reed-Culver Funeral Home on December 4, 2025 prior to services beginning at 10:00am. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00 pm with Pastor Gary Carey officiating. She will be laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery in Hulbert.
