Barbara was born In Kansas City, Mo to Eric Altermann. She was raised by her dad Eric, her step mom Susie and her grandparents Eric Sr and Myrtle. Later In life when Barbara married her first husband, her mother-in-law Mary Francis Goodwin became the mother she never had and she was the daughter Mary never had.
Barbara gained her heavenly wings Tuesday December 12, 2023 In Tulsa Ok, at the age of 75 yrs old, surrounded by her family.
Barbara Is survived by her 4 children, Paul Goodwin and wife Rachel, Michelle Sylva, Carish McGarity and husband Don, Heather McCully, one brother Monty Altermann, grandchildren Russell, Kirby, Brittany, Tre'sure, Sadie, Leaira, Shanti, Justice, Nick, Eli, Levi, Saige, Alex, Amnesty, Avery, Chevy and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Karta Singh, a great granddaughter Lilly Hutchins, her dad Eric Altermann, and her brother Ricky Altermann.
Barbara loved her family with everything in her, she did it unconditionally, and they knew it.
She was a very hard worker, she worked in factories trying to provide for her kids and later in life did In-home care taking care of the elderly. Barbara had a passion for serving Yahushua; she loved to worship and wasn't embarrassed to praise her Savior. Even when Dementia took over her mind, if she heard the Old Gospel Hymns she would start singing them and tears would stream down her face. Barbara was free spirited person and did not care what others thought about her, she lived in the moment and cherished them. She had a smile that was contagious and loved to laugh, but mostly was making others laugh. Barbara had a green thumb and always had a home and yard full of beautiful plants, flowers and fruit trees. She always loved horses and later in life, she was able to buy some land and buy her some horses. Barbara would sit for hours inside the stable and care for them; she even helped one deliver a baby and named her Strawberry. Barbara taught Strawberry to come sit on her lap, but as time went on and Strawberry grew, she had to retrain her, to not, sit on her lap anymore.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Azalea Garden’s Staff for loving Barbara like their own; you have been so incredibly kind to her throughout her journey there.
Barbara will be missed so much but we have a Blessed Assurance she is dancing in Heaven with her loved ones who have gone on before her and we have a Blessed Hope to see her again someday.
