

Muskogee, OK- Funeral services for Bill “Mud Bug” Stimmel will be held on Friday, October 10th, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Oasis Community Church in Muskogee, OK with Reverend David Howell officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9th, 2014, beginning at 2:00PM until 7:00 PM at Oasis Community Church at 800 West Peak Blvd. in Muskogee. Interment will take place at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee, OK. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Willaim Edward “Bill” Stimmel, or “Mud Bug” to his friends and fellow rock crawling enthusiasts, was born on February 19th, 1964 in Findlay, OH, the son of William Edward and Ruth Ann (Wise) Stimmel Sr. He worked as a Mechanical technician in the automotive industry and worked for Same Day Auto. He was the owner/operator of Mud Bug Motorsports in Muskogee, OK. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed any chance to go out rock crawling, mud bogging, or racing with friends and family, it was his passion. He loved the thrill of the outdoors sports and had attained his first degree Black Belt in Goju Karate. For Mud Bug, it was all about the many friends he made while enjoying life. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed being around people. He possessed a laugh that made you smile. He was a devoted father and grandpa. He loved his family dearly and took great pride in any accomplishments his children tried. A Christian by faith, Mud Bug was a member of The Bridge at Christ Church in Muskogee. The Lord called Mud Bug from this life on October 4th, 2014 at Camp Gruber doing what he loved to do, rock crawling. He will be greatly missed for his spirit of adventure, his friendship, and his unconditional love. Mud Bug was 50 years old.
Mud Bug is preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, William “Billy” Edward Stimmel III and companion Betty of Muskogee, OK and two daughters, Tristan Diaz and husband Manny of Tahlequah, OK and Destiney Stimmel of Muskogee, OK. He leaves his beloved mother, Ruth Ann Light. He leaves two brothers and two sisters, Timothy Stimmel of Findlay, OH, James Stimmel of Muskogee, OK, Patty Rush and husband Rusty of Findlay, OH and Beth Watson and husband Don also of Findlay, OH. His legacy and love of life lives on in his five grandchildren, Nevaeh Stimmel of Muskogee, OK and Landon Stimmel of Muskogee, OK, Zion Diaz of Tahlequah, OK, Harper Melody and Hunter Lee, and the mother of his children, Melody Stimmel. He leaves two step brothers and three step sisters, Rob Karn, Rick Karn of Fostoria, OH, Sissy Karn of Findlay, Valerie Scott of Findlay and Becky Light of Findlay, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones.
