Billi Dale Munnell was born on April 21, 1966 in West Covina, CA, the daughter of Gregory Dale Munnell Sr. and Veronica Mae (Skinner) Young. Billi lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a spirit that blended strength with warmth and humor. A graduate of Tahlequah High School, Billi spent her school days as an active member of the Color Guard and participated in Band. She continued her education at Northeastern State University, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management—an accomplishment that reflected her determination and drive.
Billi began working at the young age of 14, demonstrating early on the strong work ethic that would define much of her life. She built a long and varied career in the food service industry, serving in many roles, including management. She was respected for her leadership, reliability, and willingness to do whatever needed to be done. Though she worked hard, Billi was a true homebody at heart. She found joy in life’s simple comforts—crocheting, reading romance novels, and keeping music playing throughout the house. In her younger years, she loved starting her day with the sounds of AC/DC and Def Leppard to get herself energized for work. In more recent years, she found peace and inspiration in Christian music. When she took time to watch television, she had her favorites. She loved the movie Fried Green Tomatoes and New in Town, and her favorite television series was NCIS. She also was a fan of actors such as Sam Elliott, Jason Statham, and Tom Selleck.
Above all, Billi’s greatest joy was her family. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Known lovingly as “Granni,” she was always ready for whatever adventure her grandkids dreamed up—whether it was creating videos, playing dress-up with the dogs, or simply spending time together. She embraced their imaginations and filled their days with laughter. She was known for her memorable sayings, often heard exclaiming, “Good gravy, baby!” or offering encouragement with, “Suck it up, buttercup.” Her humor, resilience, and unmistakable voice will echo in the hearts of those who loved her. On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Billi passed from this life at the age of 59 years old.
