Bryttany Karol “Odie” Philpott was born on December 19, 1988 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Raymond and Laura (Glory) Philpott and step mother, Stephanie Philpott. She was raised with five brothers and five sisters, Jason, Sammaul, Joseph, Raymond, Wyatt, Maranda, Robin, Hollie, Jennifer and Tehya. She grew up in the Tahlequah community and attended school at Briggs Elementary, Sequoyah High School, and graduated from Tahlequah High School. When she was growing up, you could find her playing softball, going to the creek to enjoy time in the water. She loved music, and could sing almost any song she heard on the radio. She always wanted to be a wife and mother. The love of her life was her daughters and sons, Brooklynn, Allison, Jean and Jon Thomas, she was so very proud of all their accomplishments and loved them dearly. Odie had a strong work ethic, she would often outwork the other guys that worked with her and Jon. She was a lover of the great outdoors, enjoying meat she smoked on her smoker, cooking meals to share with family and friends, splitting wood to sit around a roaring fire, and enjoying her favorite time of the year, winter! Come summer, she loved to practice softball with Allison, and she was usually running around barefoot. She loved time spent with the love of her life, Jonathon Mathis, Together they enjoyed many memories and shared a lot of laughter. She had a wonderful personality, full of life and the best laugh ever. She made you feel right at home and you were always welcome at her house. A Christian by faith, Odie attended and became a proud member of the Proctor First Baptist Church. Life was not without its fair share of problems, but she made the best of her bad situations with a smile and a try again attitude. Although she had many dreams and plans left to fulfill in life, she passed from this life on July 19th, 2024 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by those that knew and loved her dearly.
