Dana Lynn Barrett

Dana found her calling in life helping others a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and was the head of housekeeping at Shady Rest. She was always a very caring person, willing to give anything she had to help others. Holidays were an especially happy time for her, as she enjoyed preparing the meals for her very large family. Cooking was a passion for sure, from holiday meals to wild onions, whether it be at home or the creek, she would always find something good to whip up. When she wasn’t helping everyone she could or standing over a cooktop, Dana liked to sneak off with family and friends for a relaxing dip in the creek and see how many crawdads they could catch. She could often be found making hemp jewelry or coloring a fuzzy posters, relaxing with those she loved most. In her eyes, time was never better spent than with family and friends. Dana’s health failed her and on February 23, 2024 in Siloam Springs, AR, she heard the call and left this life behind. Dana was 46 years old and will be missed deeply by all of her friends and family.

Those that went before her include her parents, Darian P. Cochran and Shaleigh Barrett.

Left to live in her memory include one son, Damian Lane Barrett of Kansas, OK and wife Kelsey of Kansas, OK, three grandsons, Biltan Perdue, Nolan Perdue, both of Kansas, OK and Kaleo Kamai of Colcord, OK and one granddaughter, Khaleesi Kamai of Joplin, MO. She leaves two brothers, John Sparks Barrett Jr. of Leach, OK, Jackson Ewell Barrett of Bull Hollow, OK, three sisters, Melanie Ann Smoke of Bull Hollow, OK, LuAna Joy Barrett of Bull Hollow, OK and Valerie Jean Byers of Leach, OK. She will be remembered by her nieces, Summer Barrett of Rogers, AR, Kristen Smoke of Colcord, OK and Skylar Cochran of Bull Hollow, OK, great nieces, Ieliana Garcia, Samyrah Martinez and Simone Cochran, all of Bull Hollow, OK, nephews, Jake Smoke of Bull Hollow, OK, Layne Miller of Kansas, OK, Loren Barrett of Kansas, OK, Zeke Barrett of Kansas, OK and great nephew Dreyven Menendez of Bull Hollow, OK, as well as many other family and loved ones.

A Celebrate of Life will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 4:00pm at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Bryson Bailey. The church will be holding a reception for food and fellowship prior to services at 2:30pm for family and friends.
