David Lee O'Field

David Lee O’Field was born on April 15th, 1956 in Claremore, OK, the son of Joe William and Ina Lou (Moccasin) O’Field. He came from a large family of four brothers and four sisters, Marilyn Leggett, Mary Ruth Colbert, Annie Lamb, Mary O’Field-Leach, Harold O’Field, Joseph O’Field, Jimmy Dale O’Field, and Sam O’Field. He graduated from Kansas High School and then attended NSU for college classes. He earned his living as a welder, working at Trinity in Tulsa, OK, and his final working position was as a Security Officer for the Keetoowah Casino.When he wasn’t working, he was the proud Papa of two sons and two daughters, Lugie, Rachel, Micah and Josiah. He loved packing up the kids to go to the river camping and maybe a little fishing. He was also very fond of hunting deer. He played guitar and sang in several gospel bands, including John 11 and New Joy. He was the kind of backyard mechanic that could repair anything he laid his hands on. He was in the constant company of his canine companion, Buster. He was always so happy to see his grandchildren, he loved to tease them and to make them smile. He loved everything they did, and was their biggest support. The Lord called this faithful son, brother, father and grandfather home from his many labors on August 14th, 2021 in Tahlequah, OK. He was 65 years old and will greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his brothers, Joseph, Jimmy Dale and half-brother Sam and his sisters, Marilyn, Mary Ruth, and half-sisters, Annie and Mary O’Field-Leach.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved children, Lugie Fixin ,Rachel Fixin, Micha O’Field and Josiah O’Field all of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves the mother of his children, Carolyn Fixin of Tahlequah and one brother, Harold O’Field of Tahlequah, OK. He lives on in his three grandchildren, Koweysta Moore, Korbin Ortiz and Malachai Fixin of Tahlequah, as well as special nephew, Tyler Leggett and great nephews, Taylor Leggett and Aaron Leggett , as well as many cousins and a host of friends and oved ones too numerous to mention.

Funeral services for David Lee O’Field will be held on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Fixin officiating. Pallbearers for David include Tyler Leggett, Darren Cantwell, Malcolm Lincoln, Harold O'Field, Charley Guess, and Gary Anson. Honorary Pallbearers include Micah O’Field, Josiah O’Field, Korbin Ortiz, Aaron Leggett, and Taylor Leggett. The family will have a visitation on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 beginning at 1:00 Pm until 7:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Long Prairie Cemetery in Kansas, OK.
