Emily Laura Garner Girdner-Garner

Emily Laura Garner was born January 27, 1986, to David and Mona Garner and Jerry Jumper, and departed this life on February 15th, 2013 at the age of 27. She had 2 brothers, David “George” Garner and Jr. Jumper, and 2 Sisters, Tara Garner and Alisha Jumper. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Louis Hogner; father David Garner, Brother David “George” Garner, and daughter Gracie Rose Garner.

Those she leaves behind are her children Gabe and Abby Garner, Mother Mona Garner, Father Jerry Jumper, Sisters; Alicia Jumper and Tara Garner, Brother Jr. Jumper and Grandmother Gladys Hogner.

Emily attended Tahlequah Public Schools and graduated in 2004. She later graduated from Dental Assistant School. She also went to Beauty School here in Tahlequah.

Emily was a very sweet and kind girl. She had many friends and she loved her family fiercely. Her Uncle Terry was the one she always called when she was in trouble.

Her Granny Glad was her buddy and together they were always getting into trouble. Her nephew, River Cobain was like her own son. She loved him very much. Emily had a laugh that was contagious and she always forgave those who hurt her.

Emily’s greatest accomplishment and her pride and joy were her children. She loved Gabe and Abby fiercely. She was very proud of Gabe’s school progress and Abby was her little princess. They were always in her thoughts and prayers.

Emily led a troubled life and experienced several tragedies. She battled drugs the last few years of life. Through everything Emily kept her love for God. She always attended church and always said God would take care of it. She attended New Life Worship Center and was going to New Jersey this June to help with the cleanup after Hurricane Sandy.

Her belief in God helped her when she was troubled and she loved the people at church who helped her so much.

Emily is in heaven now with her loved ones and is at peace. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Heaven will be a little brighter with Emily there.

Services will be Wednesday February 20th at 10:00 am. Services will be held at the chapel at Reed Culver Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Duvall officiating. Interment will follow at Hungry Mountain Cemetery.
