

Funeral services for Glenda Kay Riggins-Niblett will be held on Friday, December 16th, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah, OK with Pastor Buddy Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, OK at 1:00 PM. Online condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
Pallbearers for Glenda include Shane Golden, Gary Riggins, Mark Riggins, Kelley Niblett, Stephen Niblett,and Tim Niblett. Gordon Riggins will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Glenda Kay Riggins-Niblett was born on July 25th, 1949, in Amarillo, TX, the daughter of Jodie Buryl and Lajuana Mary (Brown) Riggins. She grew up with her five brothers, Gordon, Joe Don, Gary, Mark, and David. Upon graduating from Caprock high school , Glenda decided on a career in cosmetology. She married and began her family, raising a son and a daughter, Harold Shane and Glynnis Kay. She worked for the Curves Organization, traveling around the world from New Zealand to Canada and all points in between, setting up Curves stores. Glenda opened a Curves in Tahlequah. She also owned and operated Gifts By Gigi, and made her own wreaths, baskets and Christmas crafts. Glenda was employed at Clary Sage Cosmetology college in Tulsa, OK, as an instructor. She loved every day spent with her colleagues and students, they were very special to her. For 17 years she had owned beauty shops in Amarillo, TX, Los Cruses, NM, and settling in Tahlequah. Glenda obtained her Masters Degree in Cosmetology from Clarey Sage in Tulsa, where she worked as an instructor. She never met a stranger, and had the kind of smile and laughter that made friends instantly. Glenda married Donald Niblett in Tahlequah, OK on August 20th, 2011, together they shared many beautiful memories and a lot of laughter. She enjoyed life to the fullest, and always seized the opportunity to make a new friend. She worked tirelessly at First Baptist Church , serving as Greeter, Choir Member, Decorating Committee, Personnel Committee, taught classes on Grieving, and generally served the Lord by making everyone around her welcome. She penned the “Coffee with Gigi” in the Weekly Leader, and made everyone feel like they were her friend and confidant. She loved cooking for her family, and always made sure there was enough to go around, her specialty being Mexican dishes, and the best salsa you ever ate. Her children and grandchildren were always her highest priority, and sharing time with them was her greatest blessing in life.This bright and shining light was too soon extinguished on December 12th, 2016 in an accident. Glenda was 67 years old. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, her son, Tony Buryl Golden in 1982, and her brother, Joe Don.
Those left to cherish her memory include her belo9ved husband, Don Niblett of the home in Tahlequah, OK. She leaves her father, Jodie Riggins of San Antonio, TX, and two children, Harold Shane Golden of Chicago. IL and Glynnis Kay Pappas and companion Bryan Pargeter of Moore, OK. She has four surviving brothers, Gordon Riggins of Tahlequah, OK, Gary Riggins and wife Sonhi of San Antonio, TX, Mark Riggins of San Antonio, TX, and David Riggins of Tecumseh, OK. She lives on in her two grandchildren, Ariel Kay Pappadopoulos and fiancé Cameron Washington and Ashlyn Pappadopoulos all of Oklahoma City and one great grandchild, Beckam J. Washington also of Oklahoma City, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
