Helen Ann Hull-Allen was born on April 20th, 1945 in Muskogee, OK, the daughter of Vernis and Sarah (Howard) Hull. She graduated from high school and began her career as a telephone operator. Her life would change forever when she met and married Denver Lee Allen on September 22nd, 1967 at the Salvation Army Church of Muskogee, OK. Together they would share 48 years of love and laughter and raise their son, Leslie Wayne. Helen was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She worked to make her home a place of comfort for those she loved. She was constantly working at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, trying to help as many people as she could. She had a warm smile and a loving heart. She was so very proud of her grandchildren, Cara Beth and Jacob Wayne. They were her pride and joy, and following their activities was a favorite hobby for Helen. She liked crafting, looking for a bargain at a garage sale, traveling to see new sights, car racing, and serving her Lord, every chance she had. She enjoyed life and went out of her way to make those around her happy too. Helen became ill and fought her cancer the best way she knew how, with all she had. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on December 27th, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Helen was 70 years old.
Helen is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Vernis and Sarah Hull.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Denver Allen of the home in Ft. Gibson, her adored son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Wayne Allen and Netta also of Ft. Gibson. She has one sister, Thelma Foster and husband Quincy. Her legacy of love lives on in her grandchildren, Cara Beth and Jacob Wayne Allen both of Ft. Gibson, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
