Jerry Perry

Jerry Perry was born on February 10th, 1937 in Muskogee, OK the daughter of William and Nellie (Willhite) Hampton. Jerry spent her adolescent and teenage years in Muskogee. She met the love of her life, Charles, while working as a Soda Jerk at the corner drugstore and they married in 1956. This union was blessed two daughters, Annette and Sherry and one son, Chris Perry, who died in infancy. Jerry was a multi-talented secretary and worked in a variety of settings. She was very fond of Tahlequah High School and the daily interaction with faculty and students. She was an accomplished seamstress and could sew whatever she set out to make. Jerry and Charles were fond of camping and fishing, and often took friends along with the family for a weekend. Of all her hobbies, Jerry loved to dance. She would drive over the whole country for the chance to dance and socialize with her friends. She had a delightful personality and a warm smile that lit up the room where ever she went. She was always ready to spend time with her children and grandchildren; they were the most important aspects of her life. A Christian by faith, Jerry was a member of Southside Baptist Church. The Lord called Jerry home from her labors on June 6th, 2012 in Tahlequah. Jerry was 75 years old. She will be missed by her family as well as her many friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by her mother and father, her son Chris, her husband Charles.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughters, Annette Matlock and husband Jeff of Peggs, OK and Sherry Yount and husband Ronnie of Keys, OK. Jerry’s legacy lives on in her three grandchildren, Lyndsey Scott and husband Billy of Crestview, FL, Meagan Matlock of Tahlequah, and Tanner Yount of Keys, OK as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.

Pallbearers for Jerry include Shannon Arterburn, Chad Killingsworth, Chaz Tarwater, Greyson O’Neil, Randy Jones, and Ricky Jones. Honorary pallbearers include Martin Willhite, Hayden Willhite, and Booster Crittenden.
