

Jerry Woodard was born April 30th, 1952 in Tahlequah, OK to Clyde and Joy (Wainright) Woodard. He came from a loving home, and the only boy of five children. He had four sisters Janice, Marsha, Marcella, and Teresa, and he was their pride and joy. Jerry grew up and attended school in the Tahlequah area. Jerry was a very phenomenal Special Olympics athlete. Jerry was a janitor at KTFX-FM radio station for several years. He also had several other odd jobs throughout his lifetime. A Christian by faith, Jerry was a proud member of Ft. Gibson Freewill Baptist Church. He was especially fond of his INCOR family in Muskogee, where he lived for 15 years making numerous memories and sharing courageous laughs.
Jerry enjoyed taking trips with his INCOR family to places such as Branson, MO, where they would hang out on the town for a night of entertainment attending Broadway shows and fine dining. Jerry also enjoyed bowling, playing, dominoes, and watching OU Sooner football. Halloween and Valentines parties were always a blast with Jerry around. Every year his sister Janice had to get Jerry a tuxedo for the Valentine’s Day Party, so he could look handsome and dance the night away. As a big Elvis fan Jerry loved to get down and dance to “Hound Dog”. Jerry's contagious laugh and warm smile could light up a room. He was a very loving and affectionate to all he considered his people. Although he may have left this earthly realm August 19, 2024, his spirit will live on in all that were fortunate enough to know him.
Jerry is Preceded in death by his parents Clyde Lewis, and Joy (Wainwright) Woodard, two sisters, Marsha Benedict and Teresa Turner.
Left to cherish his name is his two sisters, Janice Rowland and husband Bill of Muskogee, OK and Marcella Bynum and husband Mike of Muskogee, OK.
A visitation for Jerry will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home, 117 West Delaware Street, Tahlequah, Oklahoma 74464. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Tommy Honeycutt officiating.
Jerry will be laid to rest in Tahlequah City Cemetery, 1251 West Fox Street, Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Serving, as honorary pallbearers are Jim Whatley, Roy Woodard, Robert Lafave, David Larivier, Bryson Lane and Michael Bynum.
