Judy Nannette (Secratt) Charles of Sallisaw, OK, was born to Haskell and Verlie (Copeland) Secratt in Tahlequah, OK, on October 17, 1964. Judy passed away peacefully from her earthly home in Tulsa, OK on July 2, 2023 at the age of 58 years, 8 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day. Judy was the second to the youngest of eight children. She was raised on the Illinois River in the Briggs community and attended and graduated from Tahlequah High School. When her girls were little, she took classes at Northeastern State University, often taking one of them with her. She was very athletic growing up and loved watching her girls play sports, especially her favorite, basketball. Judy loved to sing, singing specials at her church, Church of God Seventh Day, and to her girls her entire life. She was a homemaker most of her adult life and loved cooking and baking, something she excelled at. She was also a payroll specialist, personal caregiver, and dental clerk. Her summers were spent jumping in the car with her mama to go yard-saling and finding roads they had never driven. Judy also loved going on ladies’ retreats with her mama, sister Mary and her church sisters. Her proudest and most loved title was “Nana” to her 6 grandsons.
Judy touched many people with her kind heart and open door, which always came with a good meal. She enjoyed a house full of company and there could never be too many people at her table.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Martha (Susie) Secratt, older brother Jimmie (Jim) Secratt, baby brother Samuel (Sam) Secratt and a very special cousin Jackie Kay.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rachael Marie and husband David Harrington of Fort Polk, LA, Sarah Lillian Hicks of Proctor, OK, Audrah Sugar and husband Cody Carney of Locust Grove, OK. Her grandsons Samuel Allen 11, Johnnie Charles 8, Lincoln Dean Michael 5, Dawson Joseph 3, Jesse James 2, and Kade Henry 7 months. She leaves her brothers and sisters, Haskell Dean Seratt and wife Sharon of Muldrow, Kenneth (Snooks) Secratt and wife Diana of Moody, James Secratt and wife Jeannie of Proctor. Sister Mary and husband Henry (Butch) Hamilton of Proctor along with many nieces and nephews, extended relatives including special cousins Angela and Marilyn and a host of friends and loved ones.
