Juliane (Catron) Kizzia was born March 15, 1969 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Calvin and Gracie Mae (Feathers) Catron. She was the middle child among her siblings, Alvin, Betsy, Calvin, and Amy. After completing her education at Tahlequah High School, she went on to attend Connors State College, where she studied childcare and nursing and earned her certification. Throughout the years, she worked caring for others at places including Sugar Mountain Retreat and Stilwell Nursing Home. She also worked at Whitlock Packaging, where she met the love of her life, Jeffrey.
Juliane and Jeffrey were united in marriage on April 30, 2005, in Tahlequah. Afterward, she worked for a short time at her brothers’ daycare service before becoming a homemaker due to health reasons. Though her career path changed, her calling in life remained caring for others. She devoted herself fully to her children and grandchildren, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Known affectionately as “Nana,” Juliane was not only adored by her own grandchildren, but became the “Neighborhood Nana” to many. She loved teaching her grandchildren how to cook, sharing life skills, and helping them learn to read — accomplishments that brought her immense pride and joy. She especially loved cooking and grilling out for family gatherings, where everyone knew they would leave full and happy.
Juliane had a great sense of humor and embraced life with an adventurous spirit. She loved the outdoors, camping, and swimming, and treasured every moment spent making memories with family like playing Phase 10 and other games with her grandchildren. She traveled all over, taking many family vacations with her two daughters, Rebecca and Reba, when they were younger and continued traveling throughout her life with Jeffrey and her grandchildren. She and Jeffrey made frequent outings to the casino together and were sure to be cheering on their favorite team, the OSU Cowboys. Juliane attended concerts whenever she had the chance, seeing many bands and artists over the years, including Bryan Adams, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tesla, and her final concert, Lorrie Morgan.
Juliane was baptized alongside her husband Jeffrey, and in the final chapter of her life, she found peace with the Lord. On Saturday, May 9, 2026, this beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend, passed peacefully from this life at the age of 57 years old. Her kindness, laughter, and strength will carry on through all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Gracie Catron, daughter, Rebecca (Hendrickson) Tavera, one brother, Alvin Gene Catron, and one nephew, Randy Keith. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jeffrey Kizzia of the home, one daughter, Reba Jane “Bugs” Hendrickson of Checotah, OK, one brother, Calvin Catron Jr. and wife Kelli and two sisters, Betsy Louise Bluebird and husband Larry and Amy Faye Silcox and husband Steve, all of Welling, OK.
