Lawrence Earl "Buck" Philpott

Lawrence Earl Philpott, or Buck to his family and friends, was born on April 16th, 1941 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of James Robert and Leona Prudy (English) Philpott. Buck was born a twin into a large family and was one of sixteen siblings. He grew up in the Briggs Community and attended Briggs School. In 1964, he married Kay Rogers, and they were blessed with three children: J.R., Lisa and LaDonna. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards with friends and tinkering with cars. He passed from this life on January 3rd, 2024 in Siloam Springs at the age of 82 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, twelve siblings, and one daughter-in-law Jana Philpott.

He is survived by his children J.R Philpott of Tahlequah; Lisa Tuttle and husband Stephen of Park Hill, OK; LaDonna McLaughlin and husband Bob of Park Hill, OK; his brother Bill Philpott of Stilwell, OK; sister and twin Florence (Mickey) Young of Siloam Springs, AR; and sister Florene (Heavy) Young of Westville, OK; his grandchildren, Jared Philpott of Tahlequah, OK Stephanie Pickering and husband Dalton of Tahlequah, OK, Jaley McKinney and husband Jarrod of Porter, OK, Ace Cobb of Tahlequah, OK and 6 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention.

Lawrence Earl “Buck” Philpott will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Cobb Cemetery in the Briggs Community. His family will receive visitors on Monday, January 8th, 2024 beginning at 2:00 Pm until 4:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel in Tahlequah, OK.
