Linda Lou (Breedlove) Taylor was born on August 31st, 1939 in Yonkers, OK, the daughter of John and Vicie (Butler) Breedlove. She grew up with seven sisters and two brothers, Elsie, Audie, Zelma, Trudy, Marie and Sue, and two children dying following childbirth. She graduated from Tahlequah High School and then began her studies at NSU, finishing her Masters Degree in Education, teaching English at Cave Springs School most all of her career. She married her best friend from high school, James Joseph Taylor on June 7th, 1958. Together they would raise a son, James Gregory, or Gregg. Linda and Jimmy set about raising cattle and together they worked the family ranch for 45 years until Jimmy’s passing in 2011. Linda loved to educate everyone that she could on a wide variety of subjects. She loved educating children, she felt they needed her the most. When she wasn’t teaching, she was quilting and sewing, she was accomplished. She was a very good cook and made the best roast beef ever. She liked working ceramics, making washbowls, ceramic dolls, ducks and any number of birds. She was a proud mother and grandmother, she never tired of her time with Jami. She believed in keeping up with world events, and watched the news daily to share with her students. A Christian by faith, she attended the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Tahlequah. Her Bible was very important to her and she never lost the opportunity to read it when she could. She loved people and taking their well being into consideration came naturally to Linda. Her health began to fade and she passed from this life on November 7th, 2021 at her home with her loved ones by her side. She was 82 years old and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father, her husband Jimmy Taylor, and her brothers and sisters, Elsie Holland, Audie Breedlove, Baby Boy Breedlove, Trudy Wright, Zelma Bingham, Sue Simac, Betty June Rutledge and Baby Girl Breedlove.
Her memory will cherished by her son, James Gregory “Greg” Taylor of the home in Welling, her sister, Marie Cantrow, and her beloved granddaughter, Jami Taylor of Tahlequah, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
