

Loraine (Hooper) Patterson was born on September 12th, 1937 in Stilwell, OK, the daughter of Clifton and Ethel (Eubanks) Hooper. She was the oldest child of her four brothers and two sisters, Charles, CJ, AJ, Danny, Geraldine and Linda. She attended school, but had fallen deeply in love with Jackie Patterson, off fighting in the Korean War. He returned to the Stilwell area, they were wed the following day on December 22nd, 1955. Together, they raised two children and celebrated 67 years of love, laughter and memories. She worked at Greenleaf Nursery and for Elder Care as a provider. Whatever Loraine did, she did with love and purpose. Her happiness came in caring for her husband and their family, not to mention she could do amazing things in a kitchen. From cakes and pies, to her fabulous salsa, a jar was a sought after prize from friends. She canned a lot of produce to ensure the family ate well in the winter. Her homemade bread was truly amazing. She delighted in making most of her clothes, as well as the clothes for the children and grandchildren. Loraine was a long time member of the Wauhillau Free Holiness Church. She served her Lord and Savior in any capacity asked of her, from cooking to helping with projects, Loraine was there. She lost her beloved Jack in 2023 and remained with her family, enjoying their company until her passing on January 29th, 2025. She was 87 years old and will greatly missed for her love and encouragement she gave to those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father, her husband, Jack Patterson and two brothers, Charles and CJ Hooper.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved children, Genia Patterson of Stilwell, OK and Jackie Patterson and wife Debbie of Prairie Grove, AR. She leaves her brothers and sisters, AJ Hooper and wife Karen of Stilwell, OK, Danny Hooper and wife Kathy of Stilwell, OK, Geraldine Leutsch of Tulsa, OK and Linda Faye Miller and husband Mickey of Stilwell, OK, and one half-sister, Terry Rainbolt and husband Gary of Larned, KS. She lives on through her adored grandchildren, Tabitha Patterson and fiancé Michael Sotomayer of Allen, TX, Ashley Roberts and husband Brandon of Anderson, MO, Carrie Gonzales and husband Dennis, Katrisha Fourkiller and Jimmie Lynn Fourkiller. She also leaves 18 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a many friends and loved ones too many to mention.
Funeral services for Loraine will be conducted on Friday, February 7th, 2025 at 2:00pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Channing Howard and Brother Jackie Patterson celebrating the life of Ms. Loraine. She will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00pm until service time. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Jack Patterson.
