Marcus Lemech Rock was born on December 5th, 1966 in Claremore, OK, the son of Blue and Nancy (Pickup) Rock. He was raised in a large family with five brothers and eight sisters, Blue Jr., Johnny, James David, William, Carl, Velma, Anna, Wanda, Lucinda, Rebecca, Clarissa, Lucilina, and Colene. Marcus graduated from Oaks High School. He then went to Bill Willis Vo-Tech and obtained his Welders Certificate, and worked at Greenleaf and Park Hill Nursery. He then worked at Mrs. Smith Pie Company for over 18 years. When the work was done, it was time to have some fun! Marcus liked to play softball and basketball, he had his own team and played on leagues, the Baron Fork 49ers. There was a love of fast cars, and car races, especially dirt track and NASCAR, and even played Nascar on Playstation. In his younger years, he watched the races from the trees at Thunderbird in Muskogee, his friends nicknamed him “Half Pint.” Marcus enjoyed a good evening curled up in front of the TV watching You Tube Videos, and watching the OU Sooner and Dallas Cowboys play football. He met a lovely lady named Brenda Sue Brown, and they enjoyed eating out at Golden Corral and Long John Silvers, and maybe join his family for a game of Trouble. Brenda said yes, and they were joined in Holy Matrimony on March 14th, 2000, in Ft Smith, AR. Together they enjoyed many years of family outings and gatherings, all very special to Marcus. He was kind, gentle and loving with a large heart. He would help anyone that asked. They enjoyed curling up with their favorite canine companions and watching movies, like” Legend Of Boggy Creek”, and any other movie that looked interesting. The Lord called Marcus to the Tender Mercies Church in Park Hill, OK, and Marcus served the Lord faithfully all the days of his life, be it filling in a position, mowing the lawn, calling on members to see how they were doing, playing his guitar, and singing in cherokee anything to show his love of the Lord. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his many labors on January 28th, 2024 in Tulsa, OK. Marcus was 57 years old and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
