Marie Pickup

She married Guy Abram Pickup in 1937 at the First Baptist Church in Muskogee, OK and they made their home in Cherokee County on the Illinois River until 1963 when work moved them to Tulsa, OK. Their marriage was blessed with eight children, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together until Guys passing in 1996.

Marie was a member of Lakeview Height Baptist Church. She liked to cook and garden as well as spend time with her animals. However, her pride and joy was her wonderful family whom she loved to be around and spend time with. Marie was always looking for a chance to cut up with family and friends and always brought a smile to your face. She was an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother that will be truly missed by all that loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Guy Jr. Pickup; three brothers, Bill, Odell, and Fred Teaney and one grandson, Mark Pickup.

Those left to cherish her legacy include four sons, Joseph Wilkie of Phoenix, AZ., R.J. Pickup of Tulsa, OK, Stephen Dale Pickup and wife Malinda of Tulsa, OK. and Phelps Pickup of Des Moines, IA.; three daughters, Wanda Sappington of Durant, OK., Linda Kay Greenwood and husband Van of Broken Arrow, OK., and Kathy Marie Luckinbill and husband Steve of Broken Arrow, OK.; one sister, Beulah Box of Tahlequah, OK. Her legacy lives on in her 24 Grandchildren: Michael Pickup, Tammy Smith, Tressa Pickup, Tonya Carter, Debrah Pickup, Ricky Joe Pickup, Kari Cook and husband Louis, Shawn Pickup, Mickey Acker and wife Shell, Marty Acker and wife Staci, Stalinda Bracken and husband Robby, Stacey Keller and husband Ryan, Stephen Pickup II and wife Heidi, Casey Murphy and husband Max, Regina Kay Atkinson and husband Gary, Johnna Dean and husband Allen, Christy Hudson and husband Anthony, Joe Eberle and wife Tami, and Amber Chadwick and husband Troy, Michael Pickup, Tammy Smith, Tressa Pickup, and Tonya Carter; 41 great grandchildren: Chasity Forrest, Tiffany, Brittany, and Cassey Vanbuskirk, Pacha Dodson, Angel, Shelbie and Autumn Sinor, Michael, and Eric Pickup, Reil Vanbuskirk, Clinton Carter, Rachel Pickup, Robert William Cook, Lauren Wiethaupt, Tyler, A.J., Rhett, and Cherokee Acker, Paige and Alli Bracken, Kambrie and Kohlton Keller, Hailey and Saxton Pickup, Nayeli, Max Jr., and Cherokee Marie Murphy, Christopher Harding, Devon and Zachary Dean, Kyle and Corey Atkinson, Cylie, Cody, Koen, and Baby Boy on the way; Eberle, Zaira, Zyann, Zandon, and Zynlee Chadwick, along with many great great grandchildren and a host of other family and loved ones.
