Michael Ray Pritchett or, as he’d later be known, “Popcorn” was born April 5th, 1959 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Willie and Emma Jean (Wolfe) Pritchett. He grew up in the Hulbert area in a household of eight siblings. At a young age, Michael could always be found tinkering around under a car hood and would turn his passion for mechanic work into a lifelong career. On August 6th, 1983, Michael married his best friend, Deborah Lynne Stover, at his dad’s house in Hulbert. They shared a union blessed with almost 39 years of love and memories; also gaining two children, Michael and Rosie. When he wasn’t fixing up a vehicle, he liked to kick back with his many cats or go out fishing. He was known for his late night trips to Walmart and the casino. One of his pastimes was stopping off at flea markets or seeing what deals he could find at different pawn shops. To accompany his love of cars, he was an avid race car fan. However, nothing meant more to him than his family and he cherished time spent with his grandkids. He had a heart full of compassion and loved to bring a smile to those around him. On Thursday, July 8th, 2021, Michael was called from his labors in Muskogee, OK at the age of 62. His many jokes and care of others will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those that have gone on before him include his parents and two sisters, May Ellen Pritchett that passed as a child and Carma Lee Matlock.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Deborah Lynne Pritchett of the home, one son, Michael Runaway Scott and wife Athena Wildcat of Park Hill, OK, one daughter, Rosie Jones and Steve of Welling, OK, two brothers, James Pritchett and wife Charlet of Westville, OK and Paul Pritchett of Tahlequah, OK and four sisters, Wanda Hudson of Jenks, OK, Sonya Pathkiller and husband James of Sallisaw, OK, Ellen Kingfisher and husband Anthony of Tahlequah, OK, and Tiffany Clopton and husband Rodney of Fort Gibson, OK. His legacy lives on through his three cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Boston of Gore, OK, Olivia Wildcat and Emori Wildcat, both of Park Hill, OK, one great-grandbaby, Mekhi Buzzard and another great-granddaughter, Varya Buzzard, due to arrive any day, two adored nieces, Lisa O’field and Misty Dew, as well as many other family, friends and loved ones.
