Nancy Ann (Groover) Williams was born April 21, 1954 in Susquehanna, PA, the daughter of Edmond Knight and Lois Irene (Church) Groover. The youngest girl among ten other siblings, Nancy was raised playing and enjoying the outdoors. As a child, she experienced an event, both terrifying and amazing that she loved to share with those around her. While swimming in the ocean, a wave swept over her and knocked her below the crashing sea. As she was pulled from the water, she saw a vision of her late father, dressed in his finest suit, to assure her. She was spared from the waves. Though she avoids deep water, she did not let this stop her from living life to the fullest. She met and married Ricky Williams. Together they would travel extensively with the military, seeing many states, from North Carolina to Texas from Pennsylvania to Germany. Life was one big adventure, and with her beautiful smile and outgoing personality, she made friends wherever she traveled. She possessed a warm and loving heart, a kind and friendly smile and a personality that made you feel like she had been your friend all of her life. Ricky passed away and she returned to Pennsylvania working many years as a Convenience Store Clerk. She was living there when she met Larry Thompson. Larry spent two years working the pipelines in Pennsylvania and the time off spent enjoying each others company. When it came time for Larry to return to Oklahoma, it was only natural that Nancy came too. She moved to Park Hill six years ago where she discovered the simple joys of a campfire with friends, gathered round, going to auctions and sales looking for bargains, and riding her golf cart around the harbor, chatting with the neighbors. She liked to go to the casino and party with friends. For all the plans she had yet to fulfill, she passed from this life she loved so much on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 at her home in Park Hill, with Larry close to her side. Nancy was 65 years old. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, five brothers, Larry Louis, Richard Thomas, and Eddie Groover, four sister-in-laws, Clara, Judy, Jennie, and Margaret Groover, several nieces and nephews.
Those left to cherish her memory include her companion and best friend, Larry Thompson of the home in Park Hill. And one son, Kyle Lee Williams of Susquehanna, PA. She leaves one brother, Chuck Groover and wife Connie of Susquehanna, PA, and four sisters, Sandra Medlar and husband Larry of St. Johns, FL, Gloria Melkulcok and husband John of Virginia, Alice Leader and husband David of Binghampton, NY, and Jean Keefer and husband Jim. She lives on in her grandson, Kory Williams of Susquehanna, PA, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
