She attended Briggs school. She was married in the Cedar Tree Church by Pastor Jim Chair to Lomie Hair on October 2nd, 1948. This happy union was to last until Lomie’s passing in 1995.Peggy was content to stay in her home and stay in Briggs all of her life. She loved quilting, collecting dolls, her two dogs, going to a yard sale, and spending time with her many friends at Cedar Tree Church. She loved family functions and always made her famous strawberry cake with strawberry icing. She had a delightful sense of humor and was always in on a joke or two. She was very proud of her Cherokee heritage, she was full blood Cherokee and a 6th generation direct decedent of Sequoyah on her mothers side. Peggy was the oldest elder on the Dick and Dreadfulwater family line before her passing. She had a keen knowledge of the ancestors and was their person who knew their ancestry best. She spoke Cherokee all of her life and knew all of the Cherokee names given the family members. She loved her family, and even though she had no children of her own, she was always there for her nieces and nephews. A Baptist by faith, she was a long standing member of Cedar Tree . The Lord called this good and faithful servant home on August 15th, 2015 in Tahlequah, OK. She will be greatly missed.
