Rosemary Avery Spencer was born on Tuesday, March 12th, 1940 in Helena, MT, the daughter of Snow and Beulah (Dillon) Avery. She was raised in a household with two brothers, Harley and Jim and two sisters, Norma and Verna. She completed school and then set out to raise a family of one son, John Allen and four daughters, Cynthia Jean, Elizabeth Jo, Donna Marie, and Perri Ann. She earned a living working as a nurse aide at Go Ye Village. She was kind hearted and always had her signature smile on her face. Rosemary was always there to help and treated everyone she cared for like family. She was the best daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. When she wasn’t working, you could find Rosemary at home, probably in the kitchen making burritos and other Mexican foods, Italian specialties, and her yummy beans, potatoes and cornbread. She loved to spoil her family with homemade goodies, and there were always plenty of them to enjoy during the holidays. Rosemary loved gathering her family together, liked family reunions and having friends over to share a cup of coffee. It didn’t matter if it were a trip to town or a vacation; Rosemary was always ready for a go. When there was a little quiet time, she would curl up with her favorite feline companion, “Momma Kitty”, and read a good book, an autobiography, but mostly, her Bible. She was an independent spirit, willing to work, knew what she wanted, and would express herself without reservation. She loved her family and was fiercely proud of all the accomplishments her grandchildren had made in their lives. She was so happy any chance that came along to spend a day in the company of her family. She adored each and every grandchild for their unique personality and talents. A Christian by faith, the Lord called this hard working mother, grandmother, aunt cousin and friend home from her labors on Saturday, February 16th, 2019 in Hulbert, OK, with her family close to her side. She was 78 years old and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband Bill Spencer, two brothers, Harley Roy Avery and Jim Larry Avery, two sisters, Norma Jean Avery and Verna Lee Avery and a grandchild, Saiosi Maile.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, John Spencer of Tahlequah, Cynthia Vahdatipour and husband Madgid of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Elizabeth Jo Farar and husband Phillip of Hulbert, Donna Garrett and husband Mike of Briggs, and Perri Ann Goetzmann and husband Robert of Omaha, NE. She lives on in her nine grandchildren, Crystal Lupo, Toni Felts, Tuai Maile, Vala Maile, Darla Lewellen, Brent Farar, Michelle McKenna, Michael Vahdatipour, and Candice Lupo. She also leaves her 15 great grandchildren, Zachary Felts, Zayden Felts, Keona Maile, Mia Maile, Hana Maile, Noa Kai Maile, Caleb Farar, Alena Farar, Madison McKenna, Maya McKenna, Kaiya Lewellen, Brynlee Lewellen, Stone York, River York, Cameron Johnson, and one very special great great grandchild, Kazden York, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friend and loved ones.
