
Tulsa, OK- Graveside services for Samuel Benjamin “Sammy” Bristow Jr. will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Tahlequah City Cemetery with Bobby Bluejacket performing the eulogy. Visitation will be held at Reed-Culver Funeral Home on Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 from 10:00 Am until 8:00 PM. Condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
Samuel Benjamin Bristow was born on December 2nd, 1946 in Petersburg, VA, the son of Samuel Benjamin Bristow Sr. and Katherine Sowden. He graduated from high school and worked a large variety of jobs, including salvage collections. He traveled extensively across the United States. He thought a lot of his friends and was always putting the needs of others above his own. Bobby Bluejacket-Tribal elder of the Shawnee Tribe wrote:” He poured out his respect, hope, warmth, and prayers among the hungry, the young and the old, lifting them and embracing them.” Sammy passed from this life on April 24th, 2013 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 66 years old. He will be missed by the many lives he touched along the way.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Katherine in 1978, his beloved niece, Gail Ann Bristow in 2003,and many friends he made over his lifetime.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Samuel Benjamin Bristow Sr. and wife Rachel of Wichita Falls, TX, his brother, George Bristow and wife Mary Ann of Park Hill, OK, his nephew, Mike Bristow of Lake Worth, FL, and his very special friends Bobby Bluejacket and Van both of Tulsa.
