Sharon Kay Walters, “Share Bear” or “Grandma Share It”, was born on Tuesday, January 26th, 1960 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Floyd and Leola (Hawkins) Walters. She was raised in a house hold with five brothers and two sisters, James, Dennis, Stan, George, Wade, Rose Anna, and Janice. She attended school and then began working for Cherokee Nation, where eventually retired from. She raised a family of one son and two daughters, Dustin, Samantha, and Ashley. The one thing everyone remembered most about Sharon was her smile and that fun loving personality. This lady loved life and it showed. When she was not working, she was hanging out with her favorite people in the whole world, her family. She adored her children and grandchildren. There was nothing that made her happier than when her home was filled with family. Everyone was always ready for her to whip up her famous dumplings, pies and frybread. She knew everyone in her community and loved to “make her rounds” with her grandbaby Kylann. Everyone was welcome to stop by the house, sit at the kitchen table and share a cup of coffee. She enjoyed the day spent going to estate sales looking for a bargain or going to the Go Ye Village Second Hand Shop. She could sew like a pro, was a gifted writer, and one of the most fun loving people you’d ever meet. She loved to joke and tease with her children and grandchildren, especially her beloved Addi. She loved her grandchildren Addi, Ethan, Pyper, Lynnux, Bodhi, Caleigh, Lucas, and Kylann fiercely. There were always stories to tell, crafts to be done, and most of all, love and laughter to go around. Her life ended all too soon on Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 in Hulbert, OK. She was 60 years old, and leaves an empty chair at the table that cannot be filled. Her family finds comfort knowing Sharon departed this life with her beloved granddaughter and they are at peace together.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her grandparents, her infant son, her brother, Dennis, and granddaughter, Addison Reese.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dustin Reese and wife Nicona of Hulbert, Samantha Jackson and her husband Nathan of San Antonio, TX, and Ashley Gassaway and husband Robert of Hulbert, OK. She leaves her brothers and sisters, James Walters, Stan Walters, George Walters, Wade Walters, Rose Anna Day and Janice Purcell. She lives on in her grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
