Susannah Wacoche-Martin, or” Lou” to her family and friends, was born on April 27th, 1947 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Johnson and Katie (Towie) Wacoche. Lou grew up, surrounded by a loving family of five brothers and five sisters, and loved any chance to spend time with her family. She attended Seneca Indian Grade School and graduated from Sequoyah High School in 1966. Lou decided on a career helping others through nursing. She enrolled in the Cherokee Nation School of Practical Nursing. She practiced her nursing at Davis Nursing Center, Stilwell Nursing Center, and Cherokee County Nursing Center. She was a kind, dedicated, and very thoughtful nurse who always put the interest and well-being of her clients first and foremost. When she was home, she liked to catch up on her favorite show, Perry Mason or Chopped on the Cooking Channel, and wait for her favorite people in the world to visit, her grandkids! They were Lou’s best friends to take to the river for a cookout or just enjoy time in the “Hassle Free” zone, provided courtesy of Grandma Lou. Lou loved sports, especially OU and Sequoyah football. She always took the time to help others, putting her needs behind those who needed her help. A Christian by faith, she faithfully attended DD Etchison United Methodist Church in Tahlequah. Her health failed her and the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on January 1st, 2016 in Tahlequah, OK. She was 68 years old. She leaves a void that no one will be able to fill.
Susannah is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Ray Martin, her adored parents, Johnson and Katie Wacoche and her grandson, Bobby Joe Davis.
