Terry Gwynn Taylor was born on April 25th, 1970 in Liberty, TX, one of twin sons to Albert Earnest and Kathryn LaRue (Smith) Taylor. They were raised at home with three brothers, Marvin, Albert, and Skeet and one sister, Elaine. The family would later relocate to the Tahlequah area. Terry graduated from Northeastern State University with a bachelor’s degree in arts and a minor in political science. Terry became the assistance Police Chief for Snyder, OK, a position he served faithfully for five years. He enjoyed keeping the peace and the day to day life in Snyder. When he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed working cattle and riding horses. The best day off was spent fishing or hunting. Terry loved life, just as he found it. He had no strangers in his life, just friends he didn’t know well yet. He was kind, loving and selfless. He always put others ahead of his own wants. People were important to Terry for who they were, not what they had. He was a loving brother, son, dad, and grandpa. He enjoyed time spent with his fiancé, Vera Rose. They shared a cup of coffee and a sunset or two. When it came to grandchildren, Terry would tell you his were absolutely wonderful. He loved spending time around the holidays or watching them experience life. He had a way of making every day special. Terry was forced to slow down when his health began to fail him. He continued to smile and make the most of every day he had. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on June 15th, 2016 in Tahlequah, OK, with his family by his side. He was 46 years old. He will be greatly missed and deeply cherished.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and step dad, Jim Holder.
