Tony Mouse

Funeral services for Tony Mouse will be held on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Prairie Church with Ed Gourd, Jason Gann and Pastor Fox Blackfox officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Agent Cemetery in Moody, OK. Pallbearers for Tony include Arlis Reese, Kaleb Kingfisher, Tyler Fixin, Leighton Mouse, Darren Reese, Sammy Mouse, Sanders Mouse, and Eric Cloud. Honorary pallbearers include Johnson Wacoche, Tracy Wacoche, Billy Wayne Wacoche, Tony Stayathome, Johnathan Kingfisher, and Terry “Jap” McLemore.

Tony Mouse was born on February 16th, 1939, the son of Sampson and Leanna (Dry) Mouse. He joined a family that eventually consisted of four brothers and four sisters. He attended school at Moody. He married the love of his life and his best friend, Christine McLemore in Stilwell, OK, on May 21st, 1958. This union was blessed with two sons, three daughters, and 58 years of love and laughter. Tony worked at Tahlequah Lumber as a mechanic and truck driver. He was a dedicated worker and a friend that always was there to lend a hand. When he had free time, Tony was ready to play ball! He was the guy getting ready to go hunting and fishing. Tony had running dogs to keep him company and he loved spending time with them. He was happy go lucky, and always had a smile on his face. There was no doubt he loved people and could spend hours getting to know you, there were no strangers in Tony’s world. Tony was a Christian by faith and a faithful 30 year member of Johnson Prairie Baptist Church, where he was a singer with a good bass voice. He was ready to host the hog fries at church and loved collecting money for the annual Christmas candy drive. To Tony, the best people in the world were his family, he adored each and every one of them. The more time he had with them, the better he liked it. Every chance to gather for a family get together, holiday meal, or Sunday after church was a true blessing for Tony. He had the most wonderful grand and great grandchildren in the world. He served his Lord and Savior daily, always making the day a little better for someone that needed his kindness. The Lord called this good and faithful man home from his labors on April 15th, 2017 in Tahlequah, OK with his loved ones by his side. Tony was 78 years old. He will so very be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, his brothers and sisters, Sam, Jimmy and Johnny Mouse, Imogene Glory, Fannie Hooper, and Sharon Mouse, his son, Baby Boy Mouse born in 1960, and one daughter, Grace Mouse.

Those left cherish his memory include his loving wife Christine of the home in Moody, OK, and his children, Pamela Cloud and Jeffrey Murphy of Tahlequah, Joe Tom Mouse of Moody, Angie Mouse of Tahlequah, and Larry Mouse of Tahlequah. He leaves one brother, Looney Mouse and wife Laurie of Green Bay, WI, and one sister, Carolyn Ballard of Tahlequah, as well as 22 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
