William Anthony “Tony” O’seland began his journey in life on December 4, 1954 in Tulsa, OK to Jerry Lee Gay and Beverly Goodner, and was later adopted by Walter O’seland. He graduated from Will Roger’s High School in 1973 and was raised with his sister Cindy Ross. He was a Navy veteran, and a PFL member of the American Legion, as well as a former post commander for Tahlequah post 135. He worked in many professions throughout his life, ultimately becoming a college English professor at NSU Tahlequah. He was an excellent educator, and impacted the lives of many of the students who attended NSU. He also met his wife Linda while attending NSU in the 1980s, and together they had a blended family with a total of six children. He was an amazing cook, and anyone who came through his door never walked away hungry. He could feed an army, and often might as well have, as any number of their children’s friends lived with them and were in and out of their house throughout the years. Ever the storyteller, several of his jobs over the years were as a journalist, and one of his favorite pastimes was to be Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. He would also entertain all children in attendance at arts and crafts events with his fireside storytelling. He was a singer and songwriter, and had a deep love for music and playing guitar. Even through his battle with his health over all the years, he never lost sight of those that meant the most to him. On January 19th, 2026, he completed his journey at the age of 71 years old. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
His memory lives on through his wife, Linda King-O’seland and their six collective children: daughter Chris-Rachel O’seland; son Joshua Massey, his wife Kiley Massey, and son Ezra Myers; daughter Melanie Scott, her husband Jason Scott, and daughters Olivia and Ava Scott; daughter Pat O’seland, her wife Pavi’Elle O’seland, and daughters LaShaya, Winter, and Persephone; daughter Anastacia O’seland, her husband Dub Cauthron, and their daughter Raven Tiger; daughter Briana Ballard, and her children Beverly and Dillon Ballard.
It was Tony’s wishes to not hold services, but that those he loves remember the life he lived and hold tight the beautiful memories shared, and in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of choice. The family appreciates the respect of their privacy during this difficult time.
