Tonya McNabb

Tonya Renea McNabb was born on December 15th, 1973 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Ted Gonzalis and Ann Christie. She would later be raised by her mother and stepfather, Dennis Stayathome Sr., beginning around age 10. There were three brothers and four sisters to keep her company growing up, Dennis, Jerry, Jackie, Stacy, Crystal, Amanda, and Tanya. She attended Tenkiller Elementary and then Sequoyah High School where she meet some of her lifelong friends. She raised her three children and once they had grown, decided to pursue a career as Security and Detention Officer. It became her passion to make a difference in the lives of the people around her. It was during this time she meet her best friend, Charles Raymond McNabb. On May 13th, 2013, in Tahlequah, OK, they became a blended family with four sons, Josh, Jacob, Derek, and Dalton, and three daughters, Stacy, Tanika and, Kendra. Some of her favorite things and hobbies where during the summer. She loved to go camping at the lake with family and have a good cookout (with Tonya, don't forget the salt or the Diet Coke, LOL). She also enjoyed thrift shopping, going to the race track and spending sunny days outside with family and her three Chihuahua fur babies, Senior Gomez, Senorita Mortish, and Senorita Wednesday McNabb. Her fur babies held a special place in her heart, so much that they were even given their own Facebook pages. Then in the winter, she liked to cook big dinners and have family get-togethers at her house. After she retired, Charles and Tonya became professional tourists and found adventure in the everyday activities; toting their three fur babies along for the ride. For all the places she had yet to explore, her health began to fail. She departed her journey here on earth on January 9th, 2022 in Muskogee, OK. She was 48 years young and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepfather one brother, Jackie "Sonny" Christie, one son Derek "Kyle" McNabb, two uncles Johnny Christie Sr., and Walter Christie, two cousins John Thomas Christie Jr. and Jimmy Joe Barnoski.

Those she leaves behind include her husband, Charles Raymond McNabb, (three fur babies) of the home. She leaves her kids, Josh Black of Stilwell, Jacob McNabb of Marshall, TX, Dalton"Tye"McNabb of Marshall, TX, Stacy Bailey of Tulsa, Tanika Black and companion Kevin Holmes of Tahlequah, and Kendra Andis and husband Hayden of Muskogee, OK. She leaves her brothers and sisters, Dennis Stayathome Jr. of Bunch, Jerry Hardbarger of Heavner, Stacy Stayathome and companion Ed Bolin of Tahlequah, Crystal Hardbarger of Sallisaw, Amanda Perez of Heavner, and Tanya Proctor and husband Johnson of Stilwell, OK. She lives on in her 15 grandchildren Cade, Cameron, and Kayla Bailey, Dakota,Hailey, Clowey, Fiona, Brice, Thomas, Dorian, Carli McNabb, and Draytan, Annaleigh Holmes, Anthony Andis. She also leaves her Aunt Shirley Nofire and companion Donald Ross of Stilwell, Uncle Johns and wife Oleta Stayathome of Bunch, Aunt Liddy Kelly and husband John of Westville, ,Uncle Jim Barnoski of Vian, OK., Cousins Rodney Chuculate, Henry McClain and companion Linda Keener, Brenda Locust, Deana Locust, Ronetta Barnoski, Bay, Ree, Boye, Bea, and Priscilla, as well as a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.

Funeral services for Tonya McNabb will be held on Friday, January 21st, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Dry Creek Community Building with Brother Rodney Chuculate officiating. Pallbearers include Christopher Harris, Johnson Proctor, Christopher Michael Stayathome, Raymond"Butch"Shell, Ed Bolin, and Josh Black. Her honorary pallbearers include John Stayathome, Henry McClain, Matt McCann, Kevin Holmes, and Donald Ross. Her family will have a visitation on Thursday, January 20th, 2022 beginning at 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dry Creek Community Building.
